Dr Jonathan Abdelmalak

Jonathan is a specialist Gastroenterologist, Hepatologist and Endosopist with public appointments at the Alfred and Austin Hospitals in addition to his private work. After completing his medical degree at Monash University with first class honours, Jonathan completed his Gastroenterology specialist training at the Alfred and Austin Hospitals, including a sub-specialty hepatology fellowship year. He is currently undertaking a PhD in liver cancer at Monash University and plays an active role in teaching physician trainees at the Alfred Hospital.

Jonathan is passionate about patient education and patient-centred decision-making. He has special interests in all aspects of Gastroenterology including quality colonoscopy, disorders of gut-brain interaction and liver disease.
